The Ziff Law Firm in Elmira is again asking Twin Tiers residents to donate mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for people who need help keeping warm this winter.

Our community has always been generous in helping residents of all ages who need assistance, and we know you’ll come through again!

Our third annual Hands Helping Hands Mitten Drive continues through Dec. 14, so please stop by our office today at 303 William St. in downtown Elmira to drop off your donated items and say hello.

As always, we look forward to meeting our generous neighbors!

We accept donations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Our staff will use any cash donations to buy new hats, gloves, mittens and scarves.

There is no better way to share the holiday spirit of giving than by helping people in your community. There is always an urgent need in Elmira, Corning and across the Twin Tiers.

For local sports fans who donate, our two local professional teams have provided some special thank-you prizes.

Everyone who donates is entered into a Dec. 17 raffle. The first prize is two general admission season tickets to all Elmira Pioneers home regular-season games at Dunn Field in 2013. The second, third and fourth prizes are two free tickets each to a Jan. 4 Elmira Jackals hockey game at First Arena.

During our drive, the donated items help decorate two Christmas trees in the law firm lobby, so please be sure to check out our beautiful trees when you stop by to make your donation!

The donated items are turned over to the Elmira Salvation Army for distribution to the community during the holiday season.
