As we close in on the end of Week 4 of New York’s Pause program to combat the spread of the coronavirus, we are now faced with the mandatory usage of face masks in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained. The use of face masks is mandatory when going to grocery stores, picking up take out food, or any other situation where close contact with others in inevitable. While the use of face masks is a good idea that will likely slow down the spread of the corona virus, many people don’t have access to face masks. So what are you to do if you need to venture out but don’t have a face mask?
Here’s a quick video on how to make your own face mask at home in less than a minute using nothing more than two rubber bands and a piece of fabric. While the video uses a bandanna, any piece of fabric will do – a section of an old t-shirt would be perfect for this.
