A Message To Attorneys Interested In Referring Cases To The Ziff Law Firm

For more than 60 years, the attorneys of the Ziff Law Firm have been providing legal assistance to thousands of clients throughout New York and Pennsylvania. We are proud of our track record of producing substantial recoveries for our clients.

Almost 40% of our current caseload comes from other attorneys referring cases to us for handling.

Referring attorneys recognize that personal injury law is a specialty unto itself and that clients can be best represented by attorneys who limit their practice to personal injury cases. At the Ziff Law Firm, Carl Hayden, Jim Reed and Adam Gee limit their practice to personal injury and malpractice cases only.  Carl is the only plaintiff's lawyer in the Twin Tiers to be selected as a prestigious Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers.  Jim Reed was invited to membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.  Carl, Jim and Adam are all active in the N.Y. Trial Lawyers Association, and the N.Y. Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Referring attorneys also recognize the considerable costs involved in difficult cases and understand that a successful litigation firm must have the resources to endure long, protracted battles.  Our philosophy is simple:  You must be prepared to spend whatever is required to appropriately handle a case from beginning to end.  There's no such thing as cutting corners or going low-budget if you want to succeed.  Some of our medical malpractice cases have required the investment of as much as $100,000 to get to and through trial but we recognize that this a "cost of doing business".

We are able to advance costs on all cases we accept (including the always expensive medical malpractice and products liability cases). 

We also stay on the cutting edge of legal and office technology in order to increase our efficiency. We utilize up-to-date computer software for purposes of accounting, case management, and case presentation. Just a few of the programs we routinely utilize in handling our cases are: CaseMap (case organization), TextMap (transcript software), Sanction (trial presentation software), TimeMap (time line software), SmartDraw (trial graphics), and Powerpoint.  We understand the importance of using the right tool for the job and we pride ourselves in keeping up to date on the best software for each case.

We are happy to accept referrals of personal injury and malpractice cases. We are also proud to say that we handle both large and small tort cases. We do not limit acceptance of referrals to cases valued over a certain dollar amount.

Fair referral fees are promptly paid and we are always cognizant of the applicable rules of professional responsibility when entering into referral arrangements.
