Adam M. Gee—Injury and Malpractice Lawagee@zifflaw.com
Adam joined the Ziff Law Firm in February, 2004. Adam works closely with Jim Reed and is a tenacious trial lawyer who thrives on being in the courtroom.
The partners in the Ziff Law Firm were so impressed with Adam’s hard work and intelligence that he was promoted to full partnership in record time– less than two years after he joined the firm! The Star-Gazette covered the Ziff Law Firm “youth movement” in an article published February 12, 2006.
Adam received his Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College, where he graduated as an Alden Scholar (Dean’s List). Adam was also a Dean’s List student at the Syracuse University College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1996.
Adam began his legal career with the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. Adam quickly rose to the rank of felony prosecutor, where he worked on the most serious crimes occurring in Chemung County. In 2000, Adam left the DA’s Office to become head of the Legal Department for the Chemung County Department of Social Services. In that capacity,
Adam managed an office of 7 attorneys and was responsible for the presentation of all child abuse and neglect proceedings, termination of parental rights, and juvenile delinquency matters in Chemung County. Adam has extensive courtroom experience including the arguing of appeals before our Appellate Division and the Court of Appeals; New York’s highest court.
Adam is admitted to practice law in both New York and Pennsylvania. Adam is also admitted to the Northern and Western Districts of the United States District Courts in New York, as well as the Middle District of the United States District Court in Pennsylvania. Adam actively practices in the State and Federal Courts of both states.
Adam is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, as well as the Chemung County and New York State Bar Associations.
Adam has developed a significant motorcycle collision practice, and grew frustrated with the mis-information that abounded about motorcycle insurance. To combat that mis-information, Adam wrote a book about motorcycle insurance entitled “Would You Ride Your Motorcycle Naked?”. In this book, Adam dispells many of the myths and misconceptions shared by bikers, and offers advice on the types and amounts of insurance every biker should have to ensure they and their family are protected in the event of a crash. You can request a free copy of Adam’s book here.
Adam is very proud to be chosen as a member of the Faculty of Solo Practice University (SPU). SPU is a ground-breaking, international virtual university dedicated to teaching lawyers everything that law schools do not — how to handle a REAL case from beginning to end.
Given his significant experience in handling motorcycle collisions, Adam was selected to teach: Motorcycle Collision Law. Why is this a big deal? Because the SPU Faculty Members have been selected from among the very best lawyers in the country and a faculty member must be formally invited to join the SPU faculty. Congratulations to Adam on this great appointment.
Adam, along with fellow Ziff Law injury attorneys, Jim Reed and Christina Sonsire, publishes the NYInjuryLawBlog which is a great source of information about many aspects of N.Y. law and answers the questions that many folks have such as: What is no-fault insurance and what does that mean? What kind of insurance should I have on my motorcycle? What should I do if I get hurt in a car crash? You can visit the blog by clicking here. Adam lives in Elmira with his wife Pam and their two sons. Adam can frequently be found at the hockey rink, and is a Board Member of the Elmira Jackals Youth Hockey Organization. In what little spare time Adam and his wife have, they enjoy following their sons’ sporting adventures in hockey, lacrosse and soccer. In our all to brief summers, Adam and his family enjoy boating and all manner of water sports on beautiful Keuka Lake.
