Can parents ask that money be allocated to them in there names?

Sorry but I am not sure I understand your question. Are you asking in the context of a lawsuit for injuries to their child when there is a separate claim for the parents (this is called a derivative claim)? If so, the Court can specifically allocate any derivative claim assuming both parents filed a derivative claim.
